Bouwinvest expands multi-client model to international real estate

September 3, 2026

Bouwinvest Real Estate Investors is extending its established multi-client model to international real estate, bringing its global investment platform to a broader group of institutional clients alongside its long-standing role managing international real estate investments for bpfBOUW. The move brings together more than two decades of international investing with Bouwinvest’s multi-client experience in the Netherlands, where it already serves more than 35 institutional clients.

As institutional capital increasingly moves across borders in search of real estate investment opportunities, Bouwinvest is making its established international active investment approach available to a broader group of like-minded institutional investors. Bouwinvest’s approach has delivered outperformance against its global benchmark and was recognised at the 2026 IPE Real Estate Global Awards with awards for Best Global Indirect Strategy and Best Global Listed Strategy.

Institutional clients can now access this established approach through tailored international real estate strategies across listed and private markets in Europe, North America and Asia Pacific, with Bouwinvest currently representing €10.5 billion in international investment exposure. Supported by investment teams in Amsterdam, New York and Sydney, Bouwinvest combines capabilities from direct, indirect and listed real estate to actively steer portfolios across regions, sectors and strategies, helping clients identify opportunities early and position their portfolios for long term risk adjusted outperformance.

Paul van Gent, board member of bpfBOUW: “Bouwinvest has been managing our international real estate investments for many years and has built up extensive expertise, track-record and a strong international network. As both shareholder and client, we support the decision to make this expertise available to a broader group of institutional investors. Greater scale can provide further access to attractive investment opportunities and strengthens Bouwinvest as an employer. This is also in the interest of bpfBOUW.”

Examples from across Bouwinvest’s international track record illustrate how this approach works in practice. In Japan, Bouwinvest has invested in senior living, while in Ireland and Germany it has built residential exposure in markets where local knowledge and access are critical. These investments reflect Bouwinvest’s approach of identifying attractive market and sector combinations early and accessing them through specialist local partners.

Jasper Petit, Managing Director International Investments at Bouwinvest: “We are excited to now offer our international investment capabilities to a wider group of investors. We have invested bpfBOUW's capital through a wider range of funds, JVs, club deals, co-investments, real estate debt and listed REITS in North America, APAC and Europe for over two decades, providing solid returns and diversification benefits. We believe we have a compelling offer and are looking forward to being the gateway to international real estate markets for new clients. Given the repricing of real estate, and what we believe is the start of a new cycle, this is an excellent moment in time to invest.”
