North American growth strategy focuses on alternative segments such as life science, data centres and single family rental

Bert van den Hoek, Senior Portfolio Manager for Bouwinvest’s recently opened office in North America, took part this year in an annual roundtable on the US market hosted by PERE, the monthly magazine for the private equity real estate sector, together with representatives from ACORE Capital, BlackRock and Crow Holdings Capital.

In a write-up of the discussion, Bert explains Bouwinvest’s growth strategy for the North American real estate market and where he sees opportunities to expand the portfolio. “Bouwinvest has set a target to expand its US portfolio from $1.65 billion to $2 billion by 2022, with a buffer until 2023 if more time is needed. We see long-term opportunities in industrial and alternative segments such as  life science, data centres and single family rental,” Bert said.
